Enhancing Training Realism at IT²EC

The importance of realistic training environments cannot be overstated.  To meet this critical need, Babcock, a leader in defence solutions, has unveiled their Immersive Training Experience (BITE). Manufactured by BeaverFit, the facility is an immersive environment that recreates authentic training experiences to rapidly train personnel to be ready for any situation. This immersive training experience recreates authentic scenarios, complete with operationally accurate soundscapes, temperatures, and dynamic scenarios, bringing trainees closer to the realism of the front line than ever before. “In an increasingly complex and contested world, more than ever we must train our personnel in the most demanding and realistic environments so that they are ready to face any eventuality. BITE will deliver high performance individuals and teams who are prepared for the realities of modern conflict and complex national resilience.” – Tom Newman, CEO for Babcock’s Land sector Customisable by design, the BITE facility is scalable and adaptable due to its modular configuration, enabling deployment across the live, virtual and constructive environments. This adaptability, coupled with the incorporation of human performance monitoring technology, ensures that training intensity can be tailored to meet specific objectives, while data analysis facilitates targeted after-action reviews. By collaborating with us on this project, Babcock have worked closely with our in-house designers and project managers to tailor a solution that aligns with their specific training needs, guaranteeing attention to detail and quality control measures. Are you interested in our realistic training modules? See the military variant of BITE, Proteus, on display at IT2EC, between Tues 9th-Thurs 11th April. BeaverFit awarded Scottish Police tender, in support of the CopStrong programme

Police Scotland’s commitment to operational fitness and injury prevention led to the development of the CopStrong programme – with the aim to enhance the officers fitness levels, reduce the risk of injury, and improve their performance on duty. However, the existing fitness facility was lacking the space and equipment required for effective group training and strength and conditioning sessions. “CopStrong is the Police Scotland functional strength and conditioning programme. It is designed to be used by officers and staff to obtain and maintain operational fitness in order to reduce the chance of injury and improve work performance.” – CopStrong Strength and Conditioning Programme Realising the limitations of their current set-up, Police Scotland took proactive measures to maximise their fitness space. Understanding the critical importance of their officer’s fitness and mental health, they awarded the tender to BeaverFit. BeaverFit designed, delivered and installed the 20ft Performance Locker, complete with modular, integrated internal storage, and external rigging, compatible with all BeaverFit attachments to amplify group training sessions. By expanding and reconfiguring their fitness space with the 20ft Performance Locker, they increased the functional area, allowing for broader group training opportunities. BeaverFit partnered with Physical Company, who supplied a full 360 solution to support the CopStrong programme effectively. Not only providing a designated fitness area that utilises an unused space, but that also incorporates training accessories and equipment with the goal of accelerating their learning curve in operational fitness.     The optimisation of space and specialised equipment not only addressed the immediate requirements of the CopStrong programme but also laid the groundwork for a sustainable and evolving fitness infrastructure. By prioritising operational fitness and creating an environment conducive to comprehensive training, Police Scotland has significantly contributed to the health, safety, and effectiveness of their officers on duty. Bridges to Beast Racks: A history of BeaverFit

Beaverfitmilitarycontainer

Taking a look back to where it all began… In 1947 R.S Beaver Ltd, a Steel Fabricator company, is formed, moving to The Old Mill Farm, near Church Stretton. In 2006, Tom Beaver decided to create and build his own training rig, for preparation for the Enduroman Arch to Arc Triathlon, after being unable to find anything similar to his vision elsewhere. From this, Tom saw a key opportunity in the market and sold his first Commander Rig to the British Special Forces. This is where BeaverFit was born.  Today, we are the original designer and manufacturer of Shipping Container Training Facilities, with over ten years’ experience making and refining these unique products. We have supplied products to militaries worldwide and continue to be a market-leader in the supply of military fitness equipment. Our ability for the manufacturing of Custom Training Rigs has also been enjoyed by Cardiff Blues Sports Club, David Lloyd Clubs, Jeff Brazier, The Reebok Sports Club, Fusion Lifestyle, 1 Life, Exercise4Less, Jumeirah Beach Hotel Group, Pump Gyms, Bulgari Hotel and many more. Our US partners BeaverFit USA, have supplied our product throughout North America and continue to grow in the US market. Through COVID-19 lockdowns, training at home spiked and we saw the perfect opportunity to launch Get Beaver Fit – The perfect way to train with elite equipment from the comfort of your own home. We offer military standard products on a smaller scale to help create the perfect #DAMSTRONG set-up. From the portable squat stand, through to the Model-X Rig, we have something to suit every space. Outdoor Fitness: Is it taking over the industry?

Theshrewsburyclub

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, we saw a rise in outdoor exercise, home gyms and banana bread. Now that gyms and sports clubs are on the verge of reopening, BeaverFit are still yet to see a drop in the interest of home gym set ups.  Given the opportunity to embrace the great outdoors and adapt to a different form of functional fitness – people have found the benefits of working out from home. Over 42% of people interviewed in the West Midlands, stated that they have saved enough money throughout lockdown to build their own home gym.  BeaverFit, global leader in the design and manufacturing of gym equipment and training facilities – have found that people much prefer working out – outside, even in the unpredictable British weather. Outdoor fitness also has a greater effect on mental and physical well-being, as well as being rated considerably more restorative compared to indoor exercise. This is due to the element of nature being scientifically proven to reduce emotional and physiological stress. So, what can your gym do to improve member retention? Taking the industry by storm with innovation and forward thinking is The Shrewsbury Club. In late 2020, BeaverFit installed two modern FOB lockers with an overhead canopy and conventional gym flooring – this has given The Shrewsbury Club the ability to offer their members an outdoor fitness facility, prior to the official reopening of gyms and facilitators. Increasing their membership enquiries and creating extra value for all current and new members. This creative outdoor setup has provided The Shrewsbury Club with a facility to host all day exercise classes, no matter the weather. Alongside this, there is a safe and secure storage unit to keep all necessary equipment needed to host these outdoor classes. To make an enquiry about setting up your own outdoor fitness set up, please email Chris Pike at [email protected]– or download our commercial brochure here.
