How Malvern College is elevating athlete development with the Shred Shed

Malvern College, well-known for its commitment to performance and athlete development, has recently unveiled their brand-new outdoor training solution – the Shred Shed. The facility is set to redefine the training landscape for all their school and college teams, as well as regional semi-professional and professional teams. Recognising the importance of fostering relationships with regional teams, the Shred Shed is positioned as a hub for collaborative training initiatives. Not only benefiting Malvern College athletes, but also establishing the institution as a vital player in the broader sports community. Offering specialised training programmes: One size does not fit all when it comes to athletic training. Recognising this, the Shred Shed offers specialised training programmes tailored to the unique needs and goals of athletes at every level. Whether it’s precision and accuracy for netball players, or strength and conditioning routines for rugby players, these unique sessions provide targeted support to help athletes excel in their respective sports. Injury prevention and rehabilitation: Athletic development is hindered by injuries, which is why the Shred Shed places a strong emphasis on injury prevention and rehabilitation. Through tailored programmes, athletes learn proper warm-up techniques, mobility exercises, and strength building routines designed to lessen the risk of common sports-related injuries. Strength and conditioning coaching: All of the college’s pupils benefit from their team of specialist coaches, offering a balance of support and challenge to develop the athletic potential of every student. With the Shred Shed, the college is able to offer on-campus strength and conditioning sessions, to further enhance their training and development. “The Shred Shed has been really useful for our talented athlete programme. It’s allowed us to use the space for their specific strength and conditioning sessions to help them on their pathway into professional sports sides.” – Joe Crichard, Malvern College, Strength and Conditioning Coach Interested in enhancing your on-campus sports facilities? BeaverFit awarded Scottish Police tender, in support of the CopStrong programme

Police Scotland’s commitment to operational fitness and injury prevention led to the development of the CopStrong programme – with the aim to enhance the officers fitness levels, reduce the risk of injury, and improve their performance on duty. However, the existing fitness facility was lacking the space and equipment required for effective group training and strength and conditioning sessions. “CopStrong is the Police Scotland functional strength and conditioning programme. It is designed to be used by officers and staff to obtain and maintain operational fitness in order to reduce the chance of injury and improve work performance.” – CopStrong Strength and Conditioning Programme Realising the limitations of their current set-up, Police Scotland took proactive measures to maximise their fitness space. Understanding the critical importance of their officer’s fitness and mental health, they awarded the tender to BeaverFit. BeaverFit designed, delivered and installed the 20ft Performance Locker, complete with modular, integrated internal storage, and external rigging, compatible with all BeaverFit attachments to amplify group training sessions. By expanding and reconfiguring their fitness space with the 20ft Performance Locker, they increased the functional area, allowing for broader group training opportunities. BeaverFit partnered with Physical Company, who supplied a full 360 solution to support the CopStrong programme effectively. Not only providing a designated fitness area that utilises an unused space, but that also incorporates training accessories and equipment with the goal of accelerating their learning curve in operational fitness. The optimisation of space and specialised equipment not only addressed the immediate requirements of the CopStrong programme but also laid the groundwork for a sustainable and evolving fitness infrastructure. By prioritising operational fitness and creating an environment conducive to comprehensive training, Police Scotland has significantly contributed to the health, safety, and effectiveness of their officers on duty. How Farm Fitness repurposed their unused space to expand their hybrid-fitness set-up with BeaverFit and Eleiko

With the increasing popularity of multi-functional fitness set-ups, Farm Fitness sought out BeaverFit to help expand their footprint and utilise their otherwise unused space.
What are the environmental benefits of modular infrastructure over conventional construction techniques?

According to research conducted by University of Cambridge and Edinburgh Napier University academics, modular construction emits 45% less carbon than traditional methods because units are completed off-site in a controlled assembly line environment and taken to site in one delivery. It means that modular buildings require fewer carbon-intensive products like concrete and steel, and less transport for on-site workers and material deliveries. BeaverFit, industry leaders in the design and manufacture of modular outdoor fitness facilities, pledged to ensure that up to 96% of their modular builds are made entirely of recycled materials and renewable energy. Starting with the fully self-sufficient Strength and Conditioning Shelter at Bulford Barracks military base, this was a step into the future for the Field Army. BeaverFit partnered with ZeroAlpha Solutions to offer solar panels for the shelter, making this solution the first ever fully-sustainable fitness facility owned by the Armed Forces. “This is a genuine modern facility, built to provide the troops with what they need to ensure their physical health and wellbeing, both in terms of what we do in the barracks and around the world. This is a real opportunity and a great asset to the British Army.” – Major General Neil Thorpe The outdoor fitness set-up for the University of Edinburgh is highly sustainable in their use of custom-branded ISO containers. The University has maximised their offering to their students by utilising their otherwise unused space. Installed on the 100m sprint track between Peffermill’s two international water-based hockey pitches, the Peffermill Outdoor Gym offers multiple functional fitness stations and an array of premium equipment. “Our exciting new Outdoor Gym provision at Peffermill serves as a beacon for innovation in sports conditioning, but also what can be achieved through the power of partnership. University of Sport and Exercise is thrilled to join forces with market leaders PLAE and Beaverfit in making this hugely exciting gym venture come alive – our Peffermill users will love it.” – Jim Aitken MBE, Director of Sport + Exercise, University of Edinburgh BeaverFit has a subsidiary firm called BeaverFit Special Operations Equipment that provides law enforcement and the MOD with modular, containerised, and deployable tactical training facilities. Offering a range of ISO and Modular Armouries from low-security storage to Government MFES approved and blast resistant. These portable solutions offer the highest level of protection in an easily relocatable and deployable system. Manufactured out of an ISO shipping container, our easily relocatable storage container solutions limit the construction costs and reduce the need for anchors or groundwork due to their semi-permanent location. As a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, BeaverFit creates modular infrastructures that can be relocated, repurposed and reused multiple times, enabling us to supply some of the most ecological facilities that support climate control and lower our environmental impact. Our modular solutions are more environmentally friendly than conventional construction techniques due to the limited construction costs and the ability to reduce the need for anchors or groundworks, this means that less off-site work is needed, reducing travel and air pollution. Don’t Suffer in Silence – BeaverFit supports Glenn Osinski OBE and Michael Coates in their Sled Marathon for Suicide Awareness

‘Strength is hidden amongst the long silence of the suffering heart’ 1 in 6 people report experiencing mental health problems. From anxiety and depression, through to PTSD – mental health can effect anyone, at any time and any age. BeaverFit Business Development Manager and Ex Warrant Officer Glenn Osinski, took part in a gruelling 26.2 mile Sled Marathon at Manor Gym, partnered with Michael Coates. Throughout this challenge, Glenn and Michael remained in complete silence, whilst pushing and pulling a 75KG BeaverFit Sled. The two completed the challenge in 20hrs 26mins, pushing through their thoughts and demonstrating both physical and mental strength, something of which many struggle with on a daily basis. ’This activity was important to both Michael and I. It was to symbolise a day in the life of someone close to suicide. We wanted to suffer in silence and raise money and awareness so that others didn’t have to’ said Glenn. ‘We kept each other going throughout. There’s a well known quote…”The body can stand almost anything, but it’s the mind you have to convince” Sharing that hardship together was incredible, but those suffering in silence don’t have that someone to rely on. We did it for them. A message from our Co-founder ‘As a symbolisation of the struggles and hardships faced everyday by people, BeaverFit are following this activity with a reflection on how powerful and sometimes detrimental it can be to remain in your own thoughts.’ Tom Beaver. Do The Impossible – BeaverFit supports ex-para in his Sahara marathon mission

BeaverFit sponsored and supported an ex-Para’s mission to run the 250km Moroccan Marathon des Sables, in an endeavour to raise money for SUPPORT OUR PARAS and mental health awareness. BeaverFits strong relationship with the military, encourages us to support veterans in a variety of ways. From our dominant charity REORG, to our friends struggling to adapt to a civilian lifestyle – we aspire to give back to those who served. Jonny Mortimer Hendry, now at DEA Aviation, served within the British Army Parachute Regiment for seven years including tours in Afghanistan. On his return he battled mental health issues including post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and was keen to raise awareness of growing mental health issues particularly during the pandemic. The 250km Marathon des Sables takes place from 25 March to 4th April 2022 in the Moroccan Sahara desert and is one of the toughest foot races in the world. You have to carry all your kit and equipment and the only resupply you have is water. Jonny decided to set a world record attempt of being the first person to complete the marathon whilst wearing 10kg of body armour. Jonny Mortimer Hendry comments: “When you go to war you wear body armour to protect you against bombs and bullets, but nothing protects your mind. I am running the Marathon des Sables to make a very clear visual statement about soldiers’ and veterans’ mental health and to encourage others to seek help to overcome their battles.“ “Whilst serving in the Parachute regiment I was involved in incidents that I struggled to process on my return and with the help of Support Our Paras I was able to find therapy and get my life back on track.” Tom Beaver: “At BeaverFit, we pride ourselves in the likeminded initiative to support our vets, Johnny is a good friend and a determined individual.
