Enhancing Training Realism at IT²EC

The importance of realistic training environments cannot be overstated.  To meet this critical need, Babcock, a leader in defence solutions, has unveiled their Immersive Training Experience (BITE). Manufactured by BeaverFit, the facility is an immersive environment that recreates authentic training experiences to rapidly train personnel to be ready for any situation. This immersive training experience recreates authentic scenarios, complete with operationally accurate soundscapes, temperatures, and dynamic scenarios, bringing trainees closer to the realism of the front line than ever before. “In an increasingly complex and contested world, more than ever we must train our personnel in the most demanding and realistic environments so that they are ready to face any eventuality. BITE will deliver high performance individuals and teams who are prepared for the realities of modern conflict and complex national resilience.” – Tom Newman, CEO for Babcock’s Land sector Customisable by design, the BITE facility is scalable and adaptable due to its modular configuration, enabling deployment across the live, virtual and constructive environments. This adaptability, coupled with the incorporation of human performance monitoring technology, ensures that training intensity can be tailored to meet specific objectives, while data analysis facilitates targeted after-action reviews. By collaborating with us on this project, Babcock have worked closely with our in-house designers and project managers to tailor a solution that aligns with their specific training needs, guaranteeing attention to detail and quality control measures. Are you interested in our realistic training modules? See the military variant of BITE, Proteus, on display at IT2EC, between Tues 9th-Thurs 11th April. What are the environmental benefits of modular infrastructure over conventional construction techniques?

According to research conducted by University of Cambridge and Edinburgh Napier University academics, modular construction emits 45% less carbon than traditional methods because units are completed off-site in a controlled assembly line environment and taken to site in one delivery. It means that modular buildings require fewer carbon-intensive products like concrete and steel, and less transport for on-site workers and material deliveries. BeaverFit, industry leaders in the design and manufacture of modular outdoor fitness facilities, pledged to ensure that up to 96% of their modular builds are made entirely of recycled materials and renewable energy. Starting with the fully self-sufficient Strength and Conditioning Shelter at Bulford Barracks military base, this was a step into the future for the Field Army. BeaverFit partnered with ZeroAlpha Solutions to offer solar panels for the shelter, making this solution the first ever fully-sustainable fitness facility owned by the Armed Forces. “This is a genuine modern facility, built to provide the troops with what they need to ensure their physical health and wellbeing, both in terms of what we do in the barracks and around the world. This is a real opportunity and a great asset to the British Army.” – Major General Neil Thorpe The outdoor fitness set-up for the University of Edinburgh is highly sustainable in their use of custom-branded ISO containers. The University has maximised their offering to their students by utilising their otherwise unused space. Installed on the 100m sprint track between Peffermill’s two international water-based hockey pitches, the Peffermill Outdoor Gym offers multiple functional fitness stations and an array of premium equipment. “Our exciting new Outdoor Gym provision at Peffermill serves as a beacon for innovation in sports conditioning, but also what can be achieved through the power of partnership. University of Sport and Exercise is thrilled to join forces with market leaders PLAE and Beaverfit in making this hugely exciting gym venture come alive – our Peffermill users will love it.” – Jim Aitken MBE, Director of Sport + Exercise, University of Edinburgh BeaverFit has a subsidiary firm called BeaverFit Special Operations Equipment that provides law enforcement and the MOD with modular, containerised, and deployable tactical training facilities. Offering a range of ISO and Modular Armouries from low-security storage to Government MFES approved and blast resistant. These portable solutions offer the highest level of protection in an easily relocatable and deployable system. Manufactured out of an ISO shipping container, our easily relocatable storage container solutions limit the construction costs and reduce the need for anchors or groundwork due to their semi-permanent location. As a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, BeaverFit creates modular infrastructures that can be relocated, repurposed and reused multiple times, enabling us to supply some of the most ecological facilities that support climate control and lower our environmental impact. Our modular solutions are more environmentally friendly than conventional construction techniques due to the limited construction costs and the ability to reduce the need for anchors or groundworks, this means that less off-site work is needed, reducing travel and air pollution. Don’t Suffer in Silence – BeaverFit supports Glenn Osinski OBE and Michael Coates in their Sled Marathon for Suicide Awareness

222

‘Strength is hidden amongst the long silence of the suffering heart’ 1 in 6 people report experiencing mental health problems. From anxiety and depression, through to PTSD – mental health can effect anyone, at any time and any age. BeaverFit Business Development Manager and Ex Warrant Officer Glenn Osinski, took part in a gruelling 26.2 mile Sled Marathon at Manor Gym, partnered with Michael Coates. Throughout this challenge, Glenn and Michael remained in complete silence, whilst pushing and pulling a 75KG BeaverFit Sled. The two completed the challenge in 20hrs 26mins, pushing through their thoughts and demonstrating both physical and mental strength, something of which many struggle with on a daily basis. ’This activity was important to both Michael and I. It was to symbolise a day in the life of someone close to suicide. We wanted to suffer in silence and raise money and awareness so that others didn’t have to’ said Glenn. ‘We kept each other going throughout. There’s a well known quote…”The body can stand almost anything, but it’s the mind you have to convince” Sharing that hardship together was incredible, but those suffering in silence don’t have that someone to rely on. We did it for them. A message from our Co-founder ‘As a symbolisation of the struggles and hardships faced everyday by people, BeaverFit are following this activity with a reflection on how powerful and sometimes detrimental it can be to remain in your own thoughts.’ Tom Beaver. BeaverFit endeavour to hold and maintain a positive working environment, with exercises such as monthly marathons and social activities outside of work, to ensure we are all having that opportunity to ‘talk to someone’. Whatsappimage2022 04 12at6.27.54pm 1

BeaverFit sponsored and supported an ex-Para’s mission to run the 250km Moroccan Marathon des Sables,  in an endeavour to  raise money for SUPPORT OUR PARAS and mental health awareness. BeaverFits strong relationship with the military, encourages us to support veterans in a variety of ways. From our dominant charity REORG, to our friends struggling to adapt to a civilian lifestyle – we aspire to give back to those who served. Jonny Mortimer Hendry, now at DEA Aviation, served within the British Army Parachute Regiment for seven years including tours in Afghanistan. On his return he battled mental health issues including post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and was keen to raise awareness of growing mental health issues particularly during the pandemic. The 250km Marathon des Sables takes place from 25 March to 4th April 2022 in the Moroccan Sahara desert and is one of the toughest foot races in the world. You have to carry all your kit and equipment and the only resupply you have is water. Jonny decided to set a world record attempt of being the first person to complete the marathon whilst wearing 10kg of body armour. Jonny Mortimer Hendry comments: “When you go to war you wear body armour to protect you against bombs and bullets, but nothing protects your mind. I am running the Marathon des Sables to make a very clear visual statement about soldiers’ and veterans’ mental health and to encourage others to seek help to overcome their battles.“ “Whilst serving in the Parachute regiment I was involved in incidents that I struggled to process on my return and with the help of Support Our Paras I was able to find therapy and get my life back on track.” Tom Beaver: “At BeaverFit, we pride ourselves in the likeminded initiative to support our vets, Johnny is a good friend and a determined individual. We are extremely proud to support the mission and will continue to offer our continual efforts in all of his endeavours.” Watch the video of Jonny’s preparation for the Marathon below   Jonnys Support Team Martin Hewitt, former British Army Officer, mountaineer and charity co-founder Levison Wood, a world-renowned explorer, photographer, best-selling author and documentary producer Johnny Neil, former member of the elite pathfinder platoon and owner of media company, Provideo Companies Supporting Jonny BeaverFit UK NP Aerospace Edgar Brothers Firepot SUPPORT OUR PARAS  SUPPORT OUR PARAS supports Paras in The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces through the welfare of veterans, serving soldiers and their families and widows, and through the maintenance of its regimental efficiency, ethos, spirit and heritage. BeaverFit x REORG: Supporting Our Soldiers

B0050f41 0285 415b 8e5b 4c8f831d2742

At the start of 2020, Beaverfit partnered with REORG, a UK based charity, to aid them in their mission to support personnel who have left active service, through the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ). CEO and Founder Sam Sheriff, (along with Trustees Mark Ormrod, Tom Hardy and Trent Scanlen) are embarking on an ambitious plan to help thousands of people. When service personnel transition out of the military, they leave behind a life of structure, purpose and camaraderie. For many former service personnel this can be a very difficult time, especially if they are also suffering the after-effects of physical and psychological trauma, which is the case for all too many of them. Royal Marine’s C/Sgt Sam Sheriff started REORG to give drive and purpose to those that suffer this struggle. BeaverFit was born in 2010 through a challenge from the British Military and we have worked closely with them and militaries all over the world, ever since. We chose to support REORG as we are involved so heavily in the training of serving military personnel, we wanted to be a part of supporting those same people, even when they have left. To support our veterans, we manufacture three bespoke BeaverFit | REORG Racks that can be purchased through the REORG website. Garage Rack Home Gym Starter Home Gym Advanced We support by donating a percentage of each purchase. Each Rack is beautifully dual branded, and made bespoke for REORG.
