What university gyms need to attract Gen Z

Gen Z, now the largest generation according to Les Mills’ ‘What do Gen Z want from a gym?’ report, have unique expectations when it comes to fitness. Unlike previous generations, they don’t want to stick to just one type of workout – they want variety, flexibility and a fun environment that keeps them coming back. According to Les Mills, 34% of Gen Z students prefer a wide range of equipment, with 31% love having different ways to workout. So, what are the key expectations clubs must meet if they want to win their business? Wide range of equipment – Gen Z wants plenty of options when it comes to equipment, this includes not just the basics like weights and cardio machines, but also specialised gear for functional fitness, such as kettlebells, resistance bands, and battle ropes. This variety lets members personalise their workouts. Different ways to work out – Having diverse workout options keeps things fresh. Group classes are a big draw for this generation, whether it’s high-intensity interval training (HIIT), yoga, or even dance. Rotating class schedules allow them to try new workouts and stay engaged. How Cheltenham Ladies’ College sets the standard Cheltenham Ladies’ College recently revamped its gym, keeping Gen Z’s needs in mind. They added a variety of equipment, from functional fitness zones to strength areas, their gym now offers diverse classes, along with social spaces and stretching zones for recovery. By focusing on variety, flexibility, and a welcoming atmosphere, Cheltenham Ladies’ College has created a model fitness space that aligns perfectly with Gen Z’s needs – setting a strong example for other university gyms to follow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9MnswAzyy4 I have a question 🙋  Whatever your question, our dedicated team is here to assist you. Here at BeaverFit, we understand the importance of utilising your fitness facility to its fullest potential. However, that isn’t always possible given the limited floor space or inconvenient room layout.

BeaverFit made, fully sustainable Strength and Conditioning Shelter – A step into the future for Bulford Military Base

Bulfordmilitarystrengthandconditioningshelteroutsideview

Bulford Army Base in Salisbury, welcomes the first of many, outdoor Strength and Conditioning Shelters for the British Army.  At the beginning of 2021, the British Army released a public tender, requiring a selection of Strength and Conditioning Shelters for camps around the UK. BeaverFit specialise in the design and manufacture of fitness equipment, container gyms and tactical training solutions – making us the strongest candidate in the delivery of this project.   This large facility is the peak of innovation, set to introduce a new form of training for the troops that enables them to train in the elements. This ensures that they are mentally and physically prepared for weather variations when out on deployment and helps to avoid musculoskeletal injuries while also boosting their mental adaptation. BeaverFit partnered with ZeroAlpha Solutions to offer solar panels for the shelter, making this solution the first ever fully-sustainable fitness facility owned by the Armed Forces.  ‘This is a genuine modern facility, built to provide the troops with what they need to ensure their physical health and wellbeing, both in terms of what we do in the barracks and around the world. This is a real opportunity and a great asset to the British Army.’ – Major General Neil Thorpe As 2021 progresses, we will see an increasing number of BeaverFit Strength and Conditioning Shelters starting their construction, enrolling a variety of progressing soldiers onto the next steps of their health and fitness development. Outdoor Fitness: Is it taking over the industry?

Theshrewsburyclub

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, we saw a rise in outdoor exercise, home gyms and banana bread. Now that gyms and sports clubs are on the verge of reopening, BeaverFit are still yet to see a drop in the interest of home gym set ups.  Given the opportunity to embrace the great outdoors and adapt to a different form of functional fitness – people have found the benefits of working out from home. Over 42% of people interviewed in the West Midlands, stated that they have saved enough money throughout lockdown to build their own home gym.  BeaverFit, global leader in the design and manufacturing of gym equipment and training facilities – have found that people much prefer working out – outside, even in the unpredictable British weather. Outdoor fitness also has a greater effect on mental and physical well-being, as well as being rated considerably more restorative compared to indoor exercise. This is due to the element of nature being scientifically proven to reduce emotional and physiological stress. So, what can your gym do to improve member retention? Taking the industry by storm with innovation and forward thinking is The Shrewsbury Club. In late 2020, BeaverFit installed two modern FOB lockers with an overhead canopy and conventional gym flooring – this has given The Shrewsbury Club the ability to offer their members an outdoor fitness facility, prior to the official reopening of gyms and facilitators. Increasing their membership enquiries and creating extra value for all current and new members. This creative outdoor setup has provided The Shrewsbury Club with a facility to host all day exercise classes, no matter the weather. Alongside this, there is a safe and secure storage unit to keep all necessary equipment needed to host these outdoor classes.
