What are the environmental benefits of modular infrastructure over conventional construction techniques?

According to research conducted by University of Cambridge and Edinburgh Napier University academics, modular construction emits 45% less carbon than traditional methods because units are completed off-site in a controlled assembly line environment and taken to site in one delivery. It means that modular buildings require fewer carbon-intensive products like concrete and steel, and less transport for on-site workers and material deliveries. BeaverFit, industry leaders in the design and manufacture of modular outdoor fitness facilities, pledged to ensure that up to 96% of their modular builds are made entirely of recycled materials and renewable energy. Starting with the fully self-sufficient Strength and Conditioning Shelter at Bulford Barracks military base, this was a step into the future for the Field Army. BeaverFit partnered with ZeroAlpha Solutions to offer solar panels for the shelter, making this solution the first ever fully-sustainable fitness facility owned by the Armed Forces. “This is a genuine modern facility, built to provide the troops with what they need to ensure their physical health and wellbeing, both in terms of what we do in the barracks and around the world. This is a real opportunity and a great asset to the British Army.” – Major General Neil Thorpe The outdoor fitness set-up for the University of Edinburgh is highly sustainable in their use of custom-branded ISO containers. The University has maximised their offering to their students by utilising their otherwise unused space. Installed on the 100m sprint track between Peffermill’s two international water-based hockey pitches, the Peffermill Outdoor Gym offers multiple functional fitness stations and an array of premium equipment. “Our exciting new Outdoor Gym provision at Peffermill serves as a beacon for innovation in sports conditioning, but also what can be achieved through the power of partnership. University of Sport and Exercise is thrilled to join forces with market leaders PLAE and Beaverfit in making this hugely exciting gym venture come alive – our Peffermill users will love it.” – Jim Aitken MBE, Director of Sport + Exercise, University of Edinburgh BeaverFit has a subsidiary firm called BeaverFit Special Operations Equipment that provides law enforcement and the MOD with modular, containerised, and deployable tactical training facilities. Offering a range of ISO and Modular Armouries from low-security storage to Government MFES approved and blast resistant. These portable solutions offer the highest level of protection in an easily relocatable and deployable system. Manufactured out of an ISO shipping container, our easily relocatable storage container solutions limit the construction costs and reduce the need for anchors or groundwork due to their semi-permanent location. As a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, BeaverFit creates modular infrastructures that can be relocated, repurposed and reused multiple times, enabling us to supply some of the most ecological facilities that support climate control and lower our environmental impact. Our modular solutions are more environmentally friendly than conventional construction techniques due to the limited construction costs and the ability to reduce the need for anchors or groundworks, this means that less off-site work is needed, reducing travel and air pollution. Revolutionising weapons storage – BeaverFit ISO + Modular Armouries

Armourynorthumbriapolice 1

Towards the end of 2021, BeaverFit Special Operations designed, manufactured and installed a 20ft Container Armoury to allow the client to extend their current infrastructure which was at full capacity. It featured Government Approved walling and ceiling, alarm systems, secure weapon and ammunition storage and integrated electrical infrastructure.    We installed RAUFOSS Reconfigurable Weapons Racking, which has allowed the Armoury to be suitable for a range of different sized weapons, as the holsters can be altered to suit. This again, created a more sustainable and reliable solution.   Containerised Armouries have become increasingly popular and favoured over traditional infrastructure as they come with a host of additional benefits such as being relocatable, more cost and time-effective, easy to install and very quick commissioning.   BeaverFit offer various High Security Container Solutions, including Armouries, Ammunition Storage, SCIF’s (Secure Compartmented Information Facilities) and Secure Buildings, to allow our clients the freedom and flexibility to create, extend or improve their facility in a way that suits them, with fully customisable options available. BeaverFit made, fully sustainable Strength and Conditioning Shelter – A step into the future for Bulford Military Base

Bulfordmilitarystrengthandconditioningshelteroutsideview

Bulford Army Base in Salisbury, welcomes the first of many, outdoor Strength and Conditioning Shelters for the British Army.  At the beginning of 2021, the British Army released a public tender, requiring a selection of Strength and Conditioning Shelters for camps around the UK. BeaverFit specialise in the design and manufacture of fitness equipment, container gyms and tactical training solutions – making us the strongest candidate in the delivery of this project.   This large facility is the peak of innovation, set to introduce a new form of training for the troops that enables them to train in the elements. This ensures that they are mentally and physically prepared for weather variations when out on deployment and helps to avoid musculoskeletal injuries while also boosting their mental adaptation. BeaverFit partnered with ZeroAlpha Solutions to offer solar panels for the shelter, making this solution the first ever fully-sustainable fitness facility owned by the Armed Forces.  ‘This is a genuine modern facility, built to provide the troops with what they need to ensure their physical health and wellbeing, both in terms of what we do in the barracks and around the world. This is a real opportunity and a great asset to the British Army.’ – Major General Neil Thorpe As 2021 progresses, we will see an increasing number of BeaverFit Strength and Conditioning Shelters starting their construction, enrolling a variety of progressing soldiers onto the next steps of their health and fitness development.
