Enhancing soldier readiness with the BeaverDome
The British Army has always been at the forefront of innovation and development when it comes to enhancing the physical training and overall readiness of its soldiers. The latest addition to their arsenal is the BeaverFit BeaverDome, a state-of-the-art facility designed to revolutionise the training experience. The BeaverDome, coupled with the bespoke outdoor training rig, offers a diverse range of training options with the fully customisable interior. Utilising a range of equipment from BeaverFit Beast Racks, pull-up bars, sleds, climbing ropes, and a custom track, the soldiers can engage in a variety of challenging exercises that target strength, agility, endurance. This versatility ensures that soldiers can adapt to the physical demands of real-world scenarios effectively. The BeaverDome and outdoor training rig have been meticulously designed to provide soldiers with the means to engage in rigorous physical training, offering a wide range of challenging exercises and functional training equipment that target various aspects of fitness, ultimately leading to improved overall physical preparedness and enhanced combat effectiveness for our troops. With the ability to incorporate cardio-intensive activities such as running, circuit training, and interval training into their workout routine, the soldiers develop greater stamina, allowing them to sustain physical exertion for longer periods, which is vital in combat situations that require prolonged effort and resilience. However, strengthening the major muscle groups not only improves physical performance but also reduces the risk of injuries during demanding tasks in the field. Recovery and rehabilitation are of paramount importance within the military, as they play a crucial role in maintaining health, well-being, and operational readiness. The physical demands and high-stress environments that soldiers often face can result in injuries, fatigue, and mental strain. According to the Ministry of Defence’s annual health and safety report, as much as “61% of injuries occur in the troops’ training”, and if a serious enough injury, you may not be able to effectively serve during your contract, the military may choose to medically separate you instead. The BeaverDome’s modular and customisable design offers a unique advantage by allowing for the integration of recovery and rehabilitation rooms within its facilities. The BeaverDome and outdoor training rig go beyond conventional fitness facilities, offering soldiers the opportunity to engage in rigorous physical training. The combination of challenging exercises and functional equipment contributes to improvements in strength, endurance, flexibility, and overall fitness levels. By utilising these facilities regularly, soldiers can optimise their physical preparedness, ensuring they are ready to face the demanding and dynamic nature of their duties, ultimately enhancing their combat effectiveness. Do The Impossible – BeaverFit supports ex-para in his Sahara marathon mission
BeaverFit sponsored and supported an ex-Para’s mission to run the 250km Moroccan Marathon des Sables, in an endeavour to raise money for SUPPORT OUR PARAS and mental health awareness. BeaverFits strong relationship with the military, encourages us to support veterans in a variety of ways. From our dominant charity REORG, to our friends struggling to adapt to a civilian lifestyle – we aspire to give back to those who served. Jonny Mortimer Hendry, now at DEA Aviation, served within the British Army Parachute Regiment for seven years including tours in Afghanistan. On his return he battled mental health issues including post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and was keen to raise awareness of growing mental health issues particularly during the pandemic. The 250km Marathon des Sables takes place from 25 March to 4th April 2022 in the Moroccan Sahara desert and is one of the toughest foot races in the world. You have to carry all your kit and equipment and the only resupply you have is water. Jonny decided to set a world record attempt of being the first person to complete the marathon whilst wearing 10kg of body armour. Jonny Mortimer Hendry comments: “When you go to war you wear body armour to protect you against bombs and bullets, but nothing protects your mind. I am running the Marathon des Sables to make a very clear visual statement about soldiers’ and veterans’ mental health and to encourage others to seek help to overcome their battles.“ “Whilst serving in the Parachute regiment I was involved in incidents that I struggled to process on my return and with the help of Support Our Paras I was able to find therapy and get my life back on track.” Tom Beaver: “At BeaverFit, we pride ourselves in the likeminded initiative to support our vets, Johnny is a good friend and a determined individual. We are extremely proud to support the mission and will continue to offer our continual efforts in all of his endeavours.” Watch the video of Jonny’s preparation for the Marathon below Jonnys Support Team Martin Hewitt, former British Army Officer, mountaineer and charity co-founder Levison Wood, a world-renowned explorer, photographer, best-selling author and documentary producer Johnny Neil, former member of the elite pathfinder platoon and owner of media company, Provideo Companies Supporting Jonny BeaverFit UK NP Aerospace Edgar Brothers Firepot SUPPORT OUR PARAS SUPPORT OUR PARAS supports Paras in The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces through the welfare of veterans, serving soldiers and their families and widows, and through the maintenance of its regimental efficiency, ethos, spirit and heritage. BeaverFit made, fully sustainable Strength and Conditioning Shelter – A step into the future for Bulford Military Base
Bulford Army Base in Salisbury, welcomes the first of many, outdoor Strength and Conditioning Shelters for the British Army. At the beginning of 2021, the British Army released a public tender, requiring a selection of Strength and Conditioning Shelters for camps around the UK. BeaverFit specialise in the design and manufacture of fitness equipment, container gyms and tactical training solutions – making us the strongest candidate in the delivery of this project. This large facility is the peak of innovation, set to introduce a new form of training for the troops that enables them to train in the elements. This ensures that they are mentally and physically prepared for weather variations when out on deployment and helps to avoid musculoskeletal injuries while also boosting their mental adaptation. BeaverFit partnered with ZeroAlpha Solutions to offer solar panels for the shelter, making this solution the first ever fully-sustainable fitness facility owned by the Armed Forces. ‘This is a genuine modern facility, built to provide the troops with what they need to ensure their physical health and wellbeing, both in terms of what we do in the barracks and around the world. This is a real opportunity and a great asset to the British Army.’ – Major General Neil Thorpe As 2021 progresses, we will see an increasing number of BeaverFit Strength and Conditioning Shelters starting their construction, enrolling a variety of progressing soldiers onto the next steps of their health and fitness development.
